The DT Swiss XM 1700 SPLINE Rear Wheel is built for riders who want dependable performance on every ride, without unnecessary complexity. As part of the latest 1700 series, it refines DT Swiss’ proven trail wheel platform with updated tech, lower weight, and improved ride tuning—making it an ideal choice for modern trail and all-mountain bikes.

At the centre is the reliable DT Swiss 350 rear hub, now upgraded with the 72-tooth Ratchet DEG DF freehub system. This delivers fast, consistent engagement for efficient power transfer, while also introducing tool-free anti-pedal kickback adjustment. With selectable 20°, 10°, or 0° float, you can fine-tune pedal feedback to suit your suspension setup and riding style.

The SPLINE straight pull construction enhances strength and stiffness while keeping weight in check. Straight pull spokes reduce stress at the hub interface, resulting in a more durable wheel that holds tension better over time—ideal for regular trail riding and long-term use.

DT Swiss has paired this with new asymmetrical, usage-tuned alloy rims, designed to improve wheel build stability and reduce weight compared to previous XM models. The result is a responsive rear wheel that tracks accurately through technical terrain while maintaining durability for everyday riding.

Ratchet DEG DF System - 

DEG” stands for Degressive Engagement, meaning the system uses a high tooth count (typically 72T) for fast pickup, but with a revised tooth profile that reduces internal friction and wear compared to traditional high-engagement ratchets. This results in smoother operation under load and improved long-term reliability.

The “DF” (Dynamic Float) element introduces adjustable anti-pedal kickback, allowing riders to choose between different float settings (typically 20°, 10°, or 0°). This helps reduce feedback through the pedals caused by suspension movement—particularly useful on high-pivot or aggressive suspension designs.
