During the First World War's conclusion, the US Army introduced Liberty trucks, the globe's first standardized military vehicle series, mass-produced by multiple American firms using standardized components. The most renowned were Category B series trucks, with a 3-ton capacity, manufactured by 15 companies in two series starting in 1918. These hooded trucks featured an open cab, a 4-cylinder engine, a cardan rear axle drive with a worm gear, and cast tires. Series 2 trucks boasted alloy wheels and acetylene headlights. By war's end, 9,452 Liberty trucks were assembled, with 7,600 sent to Europe. These models are delivered unpainted and may require assembly.
