A young woman, after surviving a drag race mishap in a Kansas town, accepts a church organist position in Salt Lake City. During her journey, she's tormented by an eerie apparition that draws her to a deserted lakeside pavilion. Crafted by industrial filmmakers on a tight budget, the chilling B-movie classic 'Carnival of Souls' aimed for 'the look of a Bergman and the feel of a Cocteau', and its striking locations and haunting organ score deliver. Herk Harvey's haunting masterpiece found a devoted late-night TV audience and continues to influence filmmakers.
