Shared Justice: Non Dalit Support in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's Movement, (Paperback)

Who stood beside Dr. B.R. Ambedkar - and why has that story been suppressed?Shared Justice is the first systematic scholarly examination of the non-Dalit individuals and organisations whose engagement with Ambedkar's movement shaped its reach, its resources, and its constitutional outcomes. Drawing on primary sources and Ambedkar's own published canon, this book documents cross-caste alliances - among Hindu reformers, industrialists, Buddhist scholars, and political collaborators - that were substantive, historically real, and morally significant. At its centre is a distinction that academic discourse has long obscured: Ambedkar's critique targeted caste discrimination as a social institution - not Hinduism, not Hindu culture, and not every Hindu as an adversary. Understanding the full range of solidarities that sustained his vision is not a political concession. It is the scholarly truth.
