The Sd.Kfz.247 Ausf.B armored vehicles, manufactured by Daimler-Benz between 1941 and 1942, had an estimated production run of around 60 to 100 units. Initially serving as specialized command cars in armored force reconnaissance units, some were later armed with MG 34 machine guns mounted on the roof of their armored bodies. The removal of the command radio station could transform these vehicles into versatile armored cars. Despite their compact size, they remained in active service across various fronts until the conclusion of World War II.
