Blue maw seed, often called poppy seed, is an excellent tonic and conditioning seed. Rich in 18 essential amino acids and high in oleic acid which helps lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and improve good cholesterol (HDL). Blue maw has a calming effect on hens and helps to put weight on young chicks. It is a superb conditioning seed which can be fed periodically and often mixed into egg food. There is evidence that blue maw seed will increase your fertility rates while breeding!
