- Two Artist-Grade 100% Cotton Sketchbooks (8×12", Cold Pressed & Hot Pressed). Made with thick 140 lb / 300 gsm Type-L watercolor paper that is acid-free, contains no optical brighteners, and meets the ISO 9706 archival standard. Opens fully flat and stays flat even under heavy water use.
- Museum-Quality Archival Paper. Pleinly Type-L paper offers superior age resistance. Acid-free, ISO 9706 certified, ensuring your artwork stays vibrant and stable for generations.
- Handles Every Watercolor Technique. 100% cotton fibers + internal and external sizing give excellent strength for masking, taping, lifting, multi-layering, scraping, and wet-on-wet. Also ideal for ink, gouache, acrylic, and water-soluble crayons.
- Same Paper Available as Loose Sheets. The same Type-L paper is available in 14.2×10.6" loose sheets (40-sheet pack), so your technique remains consistent between sketchbooks and sheets.
- Compatible with Pleinly Wet Panel Carrier. Fits inside the Pleinly 12×16" Wet Panel Carrier (sold separately or included in the Pleinly Easel Set). Carry your 8×12" sketchbook safely outdoors while paintings are still wet.
- Large Format Opens Fully Flat. 8×12" pages open into a 12×16" spread (3:4 aspect ratio), perfect for landscapes, portraits, figure groups, or plein-air scenes requiring wide dynamic compositions.
- Stays Flat Even With Heavy Water. 300 gsm cotton paper handles abundant wet-on-wet applications without warping. Long open-wet time gives you more control for atmospheric washes and complex color blending.
- Recommended Taping for Best Results. Tape edges lightly to prevent water flowing onto other pages. Type-L paper supports normal taping and masking without tearing—ideal for clean borders and controlled washes.
- Advanced Internal & External Sizing. Vegetable-based sizing controls absorbency, keeping pigments vibrant and on the surface longer. Store sealed when not in use for maximum long-term preservation.
