Often overlooked in performance, cross country ski poles for classic and skate skiing can make an impressive difference in skiing performance and pleasure yet the price:performance ratio can be difficult to rationalize. The Storm 4 MAG pole from One Way is approachable in cost, but the performance is much higher than the price implies. Swing weight and stiffness are equal to poles that cost much more, but there's frosting on this carbon cake. The quick-release strap not only lives up to the name being capable of a quick release to allow convenient ski related operations like getting out a drink bottle or adjusting zippers. What is clearly superior is the magnetic locating feature that makes re-attachment a no-fuss operation.
- A light and stiff XC ski pole with 70% carbon content in the shaft
- Button releases the strap from the grip, magnets help relocate the strap to re-attach
- Carbon shaft is 81g/m
- Cork grip has a warm feel
