Meinl Cymbals B18EDCH Byzance Extra Dry 18-Inch China Cymbal (VIDEO)

MEINL Byzance cymbals are completely hand hammered into shape and satisfy the highest demands. Every Byzance cymbal is a piece of art and has its own unique sound characteristics which can never be duplicated. Unique china with a dark, dirty sound that has a wide spectrum of frequencies. An explosive attack due to the medium thin weight and the partial lathing.

• HAND HAMMERED IN TURKEY: formed by artisans to refine thickness, shape, tone, and feel—each Byzance cymbal is truly one of a kind
• B20 BRONZE ALLOY: composed of 80% copper and 20% tin, this alloy produces a rich, complex sound with a wide dynamic range—perfect for nuanced playing
• RAW YET REFINED: Byzance Extra Dry cymbals are dry, fast, and trashy with deep complexity; the extensive hand hammering creates uneven thickness for organic overtones
• LESS SUSTAIN AND WASH: the top surface lacks the fine grooves from lathing to shorten and focus the sustain, boosting dry articulation and stick definition
• FULLY LATHED UNDERSIDE: opens the sound with a sharp attack and warm lows while giving the cymbal a softer feel under the stick; rides are left completely unlathed for even more definition
• SIZE AND TYPE: 18" china
• MODERN MEETS TRADITION: hand hammered with old-world techniques, designed for today’s demands
