Kelim Gashgai Rug

The Gashgai are Turkish-speaking nomadic tribes who live in the region around Shiraz in southwestern Iran. Kilims are flatwoven wool rugs that can be used on both sides, crafted with the traditional slit-weave technique. This method creates small slits where the colors change. The rugs are characterized by classic Gashgai motifs such as rhombuses, squares, stripes, and Caucasian star designs. Common colors include blue, yellow, red, green, and beige.
