Disturbed About Man, (Hardcover)

"Disturbed About Man" is a profound collection of essays and addresses that examine the moral and spiritual crises of the modern era. Written by the esteemed theologian and educator Benjamin E. Mays, the work explores the persistent "disturbances" that afflict humanity, including social injustice, racial inequality, and the erosion of ethical values. Mays challenges the reader to confront the reality of human nature while maintaining a persistent hope for transformation through faith and social action.

Central to the work is the intersection of religion and the struggle for human rights. Mays, a pivotal figure in the American Civil Rights Movement, articulates a vision where spiritual conviction must lead to tangible social change. He delves into themes of dignity, the responsibility of the individual to the community, and the necessity of a rigorous moral education. By analyzing the complexities of the human condition, "Disturbed About Man" serves as both a critique of societal failures and a call to higher purpose. This work remains an essential contribution to African American theological thought and a timeless reflection on the pursuit of a more just and compassionate world.

This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
