Department 56 Dickens Village Marshalsea Debtors Prison Lit Building, 7.5 Inch, Multicolor

Open the door to Victorian England, which at the time of Charles Dickens was the center of culture for the world and where many traditions we celebrate today took shape. The architecture, customs and history of Victorian England are inherent in the Dickens' Village Series. These distinguished and quaint buildings and accessories are an inspiration to all who make them part of their holiday traditions. This addition to the Dickens Village Series was inspired by the life of Charles Dickens himself. When Charles was young, his father had to spend time in the Marshalsea Debtors Prison for bills gone unpaid. These pieces are limited edition and hand-numbered. It illuminates using a standard light cord and a 120V 6W bulb (replacement bulb available separately - ASIN B0052GCC1C). It also coordinates beautifully with our "Many Happy Returns" figurine, depicting a Policeman returning a lost kitten to a grateful girl (sold separately - ASIN B079988S36).
