Climbing Holds Mug

A handmade climbing-themed pottery mug featuring sculpted 3D ceramic rock holds, inspired by the texture of real wall. To achieve this surface, the artist carefully balances a matte, stone-like feel that is natural to the touch without being rough. The result is a grounded, tactile mug — reminiscent of placing your hand on real rock — while remaining practical for everyday use.

Each hold is individually sculpted by hand, with slight variations that make every piece unique, reflecting both the handmade process and the individuality of each climb.

SuperLuna Pottery is a handmade ceramics studio based in Vancouver, Canada, creating functional pieces inspired by climbing and outdoor movement. Each design translates the physical experience of the wall — grip, texture, and form — into objects made for everyday use.

Luna, the maker behind the studio, brings over 20 years of experience in fashion design and brand building. Ceramics has long been part of her practice, and has evolved into a focused path — creating objects that connect adventure with daily rituals.

Every piece begins with a simple block of clay. Hand-building, wheel-throwing, carving, trimming, glazing, and firing — each step is done entirely by hand in Canada. The textures carry the rhythm of making; the forms carry the spirit of movement.
