Grinding from coarse to fine with the hand mortar made of cast iron
In the Petromax hand mortar, you can grind spices, nuts and seeds for a variety of creative dishes over the fire with little effort. All it takes is a small turning motion, because the weight of the mortar and pestle grinds the spices almost effortlessly. The corrugations in the lower part of the hand mortar and on the pestle help you to do this. All grinding degrees are possible with the cast iron mortar: black pepper is ideal for a very coarse grinding result. Its texture is retained during grinding and the flavor of campfire dishes is intensely accentuated. For a fine grinding result, crush the spices until they turn into a powder so that a fine and intense aroma can be heard.

Cast iron mortar for individual spice blends
Effortlessly mix several spices together. The slightly pungent spiciness of caraway is combined with the intense aroma of tarragon and the piquant aroma of bay leaves, combined with the slightly hot or fruity mild taste of paprika, creates an intensely aromatic spice blend. To allow the flavor to develop in the campfire dish, you can store your individual spice composition in the top part of the mortar in an airtight container. It will only release its valuable aromas during cooking.

To clean your hand mortar, simply rinse it with water and then leave it to dry thoroughly. The robust and durable cast iron requires little care, you can use the Petromax ring cleaner to remove traces if necessary.

The helper for the kitchen in the great outdoors impresses with its compactness, effortless grinding and the storage of individually composed mixtures of different spices in the upper part. The aromas of foreign countries, the healing effects of dried plants and your unique selection come together in your dish. The Petromax hand mortar is the ideal helper for spicy aromas in the outdoor kitchen.
