Caplugs TPN Series Square-Head Threaded Plugs are made for NPT, or National Pipe Threads, meaning these threaded plugs meet national technical standards. Approved to protect threaded ports from damage and moisture, these plugs are ideal for low-pressure testing and in-house handling. These plugs are distinguished by their square head, an unusual trait for plugs, especially when working with threads and pipes. However, this design choice makes for an easy installation and therefore easy removal, as the square head provides an easier point to push in than a regular plug as well as grab onto in order to pull out. There are different sizes of square-head threaded plugs in the TPN Series to suit your various needs. This particular plug is made to plug an NPT thread size of 1-11 – 1/2. It has a total height of 0.84", and the square-head has a width of 0.81". The high-density polyethylene (PE-HD) that these plugs are made from are not only strong to hold and protect NPT Threads, they can also withstand extreme temperatures ranges, hot or cold.
