GOLDEN Black Gesso is a ready-to-use liquid ground formulated for the use of acrylics on any commonly used painting surface. It is flexible and can be applied in thin layers to conform to a variety to textured surfaces without cracking. For oil painting over acrylic gesso, it is recommended that at least three layers of gesso be applied. GOLDEN Gesso can be mixed with GOLDEN Acrylics to produce a range of colored grounds.
- Black Gesso is formulated to be flexible and provides an opaque black surface that is toothy and semi-absorbent
- For oil painting, a minimum of 3 coats are recommended to prevent oil from penetrating the underlying support
- CRAFTED to provide professional artists a variety of ways to prepare substrates for acrylic or oil paintings and other art media
- UNIQUELY FORMULATED to be flexible and is highly pigmented for greater opacity
- Made in the USA with globally sourced materials by an employee-owned company with more than 40 years of experience making paint for professional artists
