What Our Gearhead Experts Are Saying:

"I have been using the Gold Camp 3 Tarp on group backpacking trips where we want a shared shelter that goes up fast after a long day on trail, and the single-pole pyramid design delivers on that promise every time. The 56-square-foot floor area is genuinely roomy for three people, and the low vent technology keeps condensation manageable even on damp nights when a closed shelter would feel suffocating."

The miles are behind you, the campsite is claimed, and the last thing anyone wants after a long day on the trail is a complicated shelter setup. The Big Agnes Gold Camp 3 Tarp was designed with that moment in mind, delivering a spacious pyramid shelter that goes up quickly around a single adjustable center pole and gives three people enough room to stand, change, and actually breathe at the end of a hard day.

Big Agnes built the Gold Camp around a sturdy polyester taffeta with 1500mm waterproof polyurethane coating that handles three-season precipitation without drama. Adjustable stake-out loops make the pitch simple to dial in on varied terrain, reflective mid-body guy-out points add structure visibility in the dark, and a single door with storm flap and low vent technology keeps airflow moving without letting the weather in. An interior loop system offers compatibility with the optional Gold Camp Mesh Inner, gear lofts, and mtnGLO lights for trips where extra protection or organization is worth the added weight. At just under four pounds on trail, the Gold Camp 3 Tarp gives a group of three a genuine basecamp rather than just a place to wait out the night.
