Atlas Spark 20 Youth Snowshoes

Built to make the sport of snowshoeing fun for kids 8-12 the Spark is a shaped shoe sized down for the junior set with a nice biting crampon under the ball of the foot and angled heel cleats for security on challenging terrain. The Grom binding features a molded tongue to hug the foot without creating pressure points, while the heel strap offers easy adjustment and a wide strap around the back of the boot. A straightforward snowshoe designed from binding to heel cleat to make the sport fun and accessible without forcing a kid into a pair of shoes too large for their frame these are sized right: not too heavy, not too long (forcing an unnatural stride), and not too wide for a comfortable stance. A piece of equipment that can be tossed into the back of a car for spontaneous adventuring, or taken more seriously, with day packs and poles for stability, snowshoes provide a lifetime of winter joy. Why not start them now and make winter walks a regular part of your time together? Whether you’re starting out at 8, or heading into the woods at 80, snowshoes offer the opportunity to get out into winter and access all the terrain, from the top of the mountain to the quiet of a valley field. Remember to bring the snacks, an extra layering piece, and a camera, so you can stop and enjoy the view together.
